District Development Plan

Date: 19th Dec 2018 Author: Slimer

I published the District Development Plan last week and I hope you’ve all had a chance to read it.

The feedback so far has been positive which is great, and I recognise that it’s an ambitious set of proposals, but as Dave O’Connell rightly pointed out “If you shoot for the stars you might just hit the moon” and I’ll take that.

Outside of the previously communicated activities, we’ve started to look at setting up two new sections in new locations, but discussions are still at a very early stage, so I can’t say too much about them yet. We should have more defined commitments in place in the New Year so I hope to have something more to share on this then.

With regards to the new ADC roles we are creating, we still have plenty of opportunities to get involved and help us deliver the plan. I am getting a few enquiries on these which is great, especially the Youth Member positions.

Each of these roles will be what you can make them. For example, if you have an interest in faith and are frustrated that there is little activity being led at a District level, put your hand up! Let me know that you are interested and we might be able to craft something that helps you fill the gaps that are there.

Similarly, if you know someone that might be a little shy about putting themselves forward, feel free to nominate them and I will give them a call. You can reach me any time on
