Christmas Message – From the DC

Date: 28th Dec 2022 Author: Slimer

With Christmas feeling like it was weeks ago we find ourselves in that lull between Christmas and New Year, trying to remember which day it actually is.

I do hope you managed to enjoy the festivities with family and friends and made the most of a little break.

I just wanted to say Thank You for all you do for Scouting in Durham City and District.

This last year has seen us reaching full speed with the return of camps, Sanctuary, District competitions and taking part in events beyond the District including Beaver Picnic, Cuboree. MidMad and the Geoffrey Gordon Cup to name a few.

The coming year is already shaping up to be very busy with more events, camps, Young Leader and Leader training. The District website has been updated, with the event calendar being regularly updated.

We’ll be holding a District Development Day in the Spring and I am keen to hear your thoughts on where our Scouting journey should take us.

So, let me say Thank You once again and I hope to catch up with you soon.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
