Boundary Review

Date: 19th Dec 2018 Author: Slimer

I advised on the last note that the County Commissioner kicked off a boundary review exercise clarify the District boundaries. I believe there have been no substantive challenges to the proposals
to expand the Durham City perimeter so we can now include the parishes of West Rainton, Esh and Sacriston within our District. This has an effect on our opportunity for future provision and County is doing some further work on putting schools into the mapping so we can see more clearly where we may be able to target our youth recruitment activities.

The detail of the new boundaries is still a work in progress across the County, but you can view that on the Google map at this link.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
