Date: 22nd February 2025 Between: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Location: 19th Durham (Neville's) Cross Scout Group HQ

This is a one-day course aimed to give Young Leaders the essential skills they need to start their volunteering effectively in their sections. This session will cover:

Module A – Prepare for take-off (essentials and expectations)

Aim: This module aims to give you the essential information you’ll need to perform your ESYL role safely. It will provide you with the immediate skills needed to assist another section, and to understand your role. You’ll also discover how the Scheme works, and find out how to access further learning opportunities.

Module E – Game on!

Aim: The aim of this module is to give ESYLs a good understanding of the importance of games in the section meeting. It will give you an idea of the different types of games that can be played and when to use them to the greatest effect.

This will be an interactive session.  Attendees will need to bring a packed lunch. Refreshments (tea, coffee, squash, and biscuits) will be available.

Bookings must be made by an adult. The Young Leader’s Explorer Leader must be aware of their attendance.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
