Welcome to Durham City Scouts

Scouting in Durham City is supported by a dedicated team of over 70 volunteers who help to run the programme and Groups.

These are in turn supported by a team at District level who provide advice and support on all aspects of Scouting from programme ideas to adult training issues.

There are currently 8 Scout Groups in Durham City and the surrounding villages: Belmont, Coxhoe, Neville’s Cross, Framwellgate Moor, Old Elvet, Gilesgate, Brandon, Waterhouses. For further information visit the Groups page or view the map of the District.

Because of the demand for places especially in the younger sections it is not always possible to offer places in a first choice of group. If you are looking for a place please complete the online joining form and we will endeavour to find a space somewhere within the District.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
