Explorer scouts are aged from 14 to 18 years old and are run at a district level. There are currently two explorer groups in Durham, one that meets in Brandon and one that meets in Elvet. Explorer scouts are encouraged to take more responsibility for their own program by planning and running their own activities under the leaders' supervision.
